Audience Builder


The Kochava Audience Builder provides the ability to create audience segments. Each audience segment can be refined by a variety of metrics such as geography, demographics, points of interest, app usage and web usage. As metrics are refined, the number of estimated devices within the audience segment is updated providing an idea of the audience size that can be reached.


Kochava Collective Interface

  1. Log in to Kochava.
  2. Click Kochava Apps>Collective.
  3.  

     

    NOTE: By default, the Kochava Collective Overview UI (User Interface) is loaded.

     

  4. Select Audience Builder.
  5.  


Audience General Settings

The Audience Builder page graphically displays the audience categories in real-time. As the settings are updated within the various audience filters, the graphic displays for available audience will be updated.

  1. Enter a unique Audience Name.
  2.  

    NOTE: To save an audience, the estimated size of the audience segment must be between 10K and 20M devices. As filters are added or removed the estimated device count will automatically update.

    NOTE: Filters with settings selected are indicated with a green border.

    NOTE: Once the filter has been added, all of the settings may be removed by Clicking on the “-“ button. If individual settings within a filter need to be removed, Click the “+” button and remove the individual setting.

     


Source Settings

Select the specific source from which the audience segment will be built:

  1. Type part of all of Source Filter, suggested filters will be loaded. Click on the desired filter to add the filter to the list.
  2. Individual sources may be removed from the filter by Clicking “x”.
  3. Click Done.
  4.  

    A. Type part of all of the source which to build the audience segment from.
    B. Click “x” to remove.


Activation Partners Settings

Select the partner(s) which this audience segment will be activated with:

  1. Expand the Activation Partners menu.
  2. Select the partners to activate the audience segment with:

    NOTE: Depending on the partner(s) selected filter options and audience segments submitted by other partners may not be available.

    NOTE: If no partner is selected, all partners will be included.

     

  3. Click Done.

Geography Settings

NOTE: In accordance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) locations within the European Union are not available.

Select the geographic locations from which the targeted devices originated:

  1. Type the desired Country/State/City in the search box.
  2. Select the desired Country/State/City.
  3. Select to Include or Exclude the selected locations.
  4. Individual locations may be removed from the filter by Clicking “x”.
  5. Select the Recency:
    1. 7 Days
    2. 14 Days
    3. 30 Days
    4. 60 Days
    5. 90 Days
    6. 180 Days
    7. 365 Days
    8. All Time (default)
  6. Click Done.
  7.  

    A. Type part or all of the region which is to be included/excluded.
    B. Click “x” to remove.


Demographics Settings

Age:

Select to Include or Exclude:

  • 18-25
  • 26-35
  • 36-45
  • 46-55
  • 56-65
  •  

    A. Select the desired ages to include or exclude.

 

Gender:

Select to Include or Exclude:

  • Female
  • Male
  •  

    A. Select the desired gender to include or exclude.

 

Primary Language:

Select to Include or Exclude:

  • Chinese
  • English
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Spanish
  •  

    A. Select the desired language to include or exclude.


Interests and Behaviors Settings

Select the interest and behavior which the audience segment may be interested in.

  1. Type the desired Interest and Behavior in the search box.
  2. Select the desired Interest and Behavior.
  3. Select to Include or Exclude the selected interest or behavior.
  4. Individual interests and behaviors may be removed from the filter by Clicking “x”.
  5. Click Done.

    A. Type part of all of the interest and behavior which is the be included/excluded.
    B. Click “x” to remove.


Points of Interest Settings

Select the point of interest(s) which the audience segment may be interested in.

  1. Type the desired Point of Interest in the search box.
  2. Select the desired Point of Interest.
  3. Select to Include or Exclude the selected interest.
  4. Select the Recency
    • 7 Days
    • 14 Days
    • 30 Days
    • 60 Days
    • 90 Days
    • 180 Days
    • 365 Days
    • All Time (default)
  5. Individual points of interest may be removed from the filter by Clicking “x”.
  6. Click Done.

    A. Type part or all of the point of interest which is to be included/excluded.
    B. Click “x” to remove.


Apps on Device Settings

Select the app categories or the specific apps which the user segment has installed on their device. Selections within this category can be either inclusive or exclusive, as well as selecting the engagement type and recency. Apps can be searched by keyword, platform or category.

  1. Type part or all of an App Usage Filter, suggested filters will be loaded. Click on the desired filter to add the filter to the list.
  2. Select an app Platform.
  3. Select an app Category.
  4. Select Include or Exclude.
  5.  

    NOTE: Selecting the Include option will filter the user segment based on the app being downloaded onto the user device. Selecting the Exclude option will filter the user segment based on the app not being downloaded onto the user device.

     

  6. Individual categories may be removed from the filter by Clicking “x”.
  7. Click Done.
  8.  

    A. Type part of all of Apps on Device Filter.
    B. Click “x” to remove.


App Usage Settings

Select the app categories which the user segment has engaged with on their device. Selections within this category can be either inclusive or exclusive, as well as selecting the engagement type and recency. Apps can be searched by keyword, platform or category.

  1. Type part or all of the App Usage Filter, suggested filters will be loaded. Click on the desired filter to add the filter to the list.
  2. Select the app Platform.
  3. Select the app Category.
  4. Select Include or Exclude.
  5. Select the Engagement Type:
    • Install
    • Session
    • Engagement
    • Purchase Intent
    • Purchase
  6. Select the desired Recency:
    • 7 Days
    • 14 Days
    • 30 Days
    • 60 Days
    • 90 Days
    • 180 Days
    • 365 Days
    • All Time (default)
  7. Individual categories may be removed from the filter by Clicking “x”.
  8. Click Done.
  9.  

    A. Type part of all of a Usage Filter.
    B. Click “x” to remove.


Device Settings

The Device filter enables the selection of specific types of devices based on a variety of metrics.

  1. Select Hardware Type:

  3. Select the Make and Model.
  4. Select the OS and Version.
  5. Select the Carrier Name.
  6.  


Suppress Settings

The Suppression filter allows the removal of specific apps and audience filter from the new audience segment.

  1. Select Suppress My Apps, using the search box locate the desired app(s).
  2. Select Suppress My Audiences, using the search box locate the desired previously saved audience filter(s).
  3.  


Audience Size Settings

The Audience Size filter provides the ability to set a maximum audience size.

  1. Enter a Max Audience Size.
  2. Click Done.
  3.  

    NOTE: The minimum audience size is already set to 10K.

     

    A. Set an maximum audience size of up to 200 Million. The minimum audience size is pre-set to 10 Thousand.
