Instance Method – removeRemoteNotificationsDeviceToken

  • Instance Method

    removeRemoteNotificationsDeviceToken(_:)

Remove a remote notifications device token.

    Declaration

    Discussion

This method builds upon Apple’s remote notifications capability, as outlined here. Upon request, the operating system will return a remote notifications device token. You may then provide that token to Kochava for use with its push notifications service.

Subsequently you may wish to remove that token, so that push notifications can no longer be sent to the device.

Removing a remote notifications device token from the tracker sends the removal of the token to Kochava’s servers, where it is removed from subsequent push notification campaigns. You should provide the deviceToken as it was provided to you in the UIApplicationDelegate callback instance method application(_:didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken:).

External Documentation Apple Local and Remote Notifications Overview

Local notifications and remote notifications are ways to inform users when new data becomes available for your app, even when your app is not running in the foreground. For example, a messaging app might let the user know when a new message has arrived, and a calendar app might inform the user of an upcoming appointment.
