The following document defines the process for creating a S2S (Server-to-Server) connection between Kochava and Urban Airship. Setting up a S2S feed to Urban Airship requires a postback configuration. In order to leverage the S2S integration with Urban Airship it is required that your apps are configured to gather the IDFA/Google Ad ID via the Urban Airship SDK. For more information refer to the following:

Data Needed Before Beginning Process:

  • App Key (obtained from the Urban Airship user interface)
  • Access Token (obtained from the Urban Airship user interface)
  • Master Secret (optional – obtained from the Urban Airship user interface)

NOTE: In order for the S2S connection between Kochava and Urban Airship to function properly, the SDK (Software Development Kit) for Urban Airship must be installed. For further information about Urban Airship SDK integration, click here.

BEST PRACTICES: If strict authentication rules are being utilized, ensure that the procedures and policies within the Kochava Install Authentication Integration support documentation have been followed.

Set Up Postback to Urban Airship

The following procedure provides the steps for setting up a postback to Urban Airship.

  1. Log in to Kochava.
  2. Select the desired Account and App.
  3. Select Apps & Assets > Partner Configuration.

Feature Note: To add this menu item to your Favorites Menu, select the “+” sign that appears when you hover over the menu. The Features Menu provides quick access to your most frequently visited areas of the Kochava UI.

  1. Click + Add a Configuration.
  2. Select Network Partner > Urban Airship.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Expand the Urban Airship Postbacks.
  5. Select an Urban Airship event (Example: UA_FIRST_OPEN).
  6. Enter the Urban Airship App Key.
  7. Enter the Urban Airship Access Token.
  8. Enter the Urban Airship Master Secret.
  9. Select to Send Urban Airship Notification. (optional)
  10. Select to Send Push Notification to Device. (optional)
  11. Select to Register Attribution Tags. (optional)
  12. Enter the Push Notification Alert.
  13. Enter the Push Notification Audience Tag.
  14. Enter the Stream Offset.
  15. Select to Supply Network Data to Analytics Partner.
  16. Select the Delivery Delay.
  17. Select the Retry Attempts.
  18. Select the Delivery Method.
