Campaign Cost Settings

The following document defines the methods to include cost collection and aggregation within a new or existing campaign.


Create a Campaign with a Cost Supporting Partner

The information in this section describes the process for creating a new campaign that will collect cost data.

 

Create a Campaign:

  1. Log in to Kochava.
  2. Select the desired app.
  3. Select App Tools>Campaign Manager.
  4.

  5. Click Add a Campaign.
  6. Enter a Campaign Name.
  7. Enter the Default Destination URL.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Locate the newly created campaign and click Campaign Tools>Add a Segment.
  10. Enter a Segment Name.
  11. Enter a Description. (optional)
  12. Click Submit.
  13. Expand the newly created campaign and click Segment Tools>Add a Tracker.
  14. Enter a Tracker Name.
  15. Select the Tracker Type.
  16. Select a Network.

    NOTE: For a list of networks that have the ability to collect cost data, refer to Networks that Collect Cost Data section.

    NOTE: By default, the Share With Publisher box is checked. This setting allows the associated publisher to view the settings for this tracker. By unchecking this box, the associated publisher will not be able to view the settings for the tracker.

     

  18. Select a Destination URL Type.
  19. Enter a Deeplink. (optional)
  20. Select a Price Type>
  21. a. CPC (Cost per Click)
    b. CPI (Cost per Install)
    c. CPM (Cost per Mille)
    d. CPA (Cost per Action)
    e. CPC/CPI (Cost per Click and Cost per Install)
    f. CPM/CPI (Cost per Mille and Cost per Install)
    g. CPM/CPC (Cost per Mille and Cost per Click)

     

    BEST PRACTICES: Any dollar amount that is added into the Price Override field will override any cost data that is sent by the network. Price data can vary. To obtain the most accurate cost data, leave the Price Override field at $0.00.

    A. Select the Price Type that matches the cost data being sent from the network.
    B. Enter a Static Price. It is NOT recommended to add any value into this field.

     

  22. Click Save & Add Another Tracker (If additional trackers need to be created).
  23. Click Submit (If no further trackers need to be created).

 

Create a Postback:

  1. Click App Tools>Partner Configuration.
  2.

  3. Click Add a Configuration.
  4. Select a Network Partner.
  5. Click Go.
  6.  

    NOTE: For a list of networks that have the ability to collect cost data, refer to Networks that Collect Cost Data Section.

     

  7. Select Install>Postback Tools>Edit.
  8. Enter any network specific data.
  9. Select a Delivery Delay.
  10. Select the number of Retry Attempts.
  11. Select the Delivery Method.
  12. Click Save.

 

Enter Network Credentials:

  1. Click App Tools>Partner Configuration.
  2.  

    NOTE: The Partner Configuration page can also be navigated to by using the breadcrumbs located at the top of the page.

     

  3. Locate the desired network.
  4. Select Network Tools>Credentials.
  5.  

     

  6. Enter network specific authentication data.
  7. Toggle Collect Cost>On.
  8.  

    NOTE: If available, multiple account IDs may be associated with cost collection.

     

  9. Click Save.

Update a Campaign to Collect Cost Data from a Supporting Partner

The information in this section describes the process for updating a previously created campaign to collect cost data.

 

Update Tracker Information:

  1. Log in to Kochava.
  2. Select the desired app.
  3. Select App Tools>Campaign Manager.
  4.

  5. Locate the desired tracker and Select Tracker Tools>Edit.
  6. Select a Price Type>
  7. a. CPC (Cost per Click)
    b. CPI (Cost per Install)
    c. CPM (Cost per Mille)
    d. CPA (Cost per Action)
    e. CPC/CPI (Cost per Click and Cost per Install)
    f. CPM/CPI (Cost per Mille and Cost per Install)
    g. CPM/CPC (Cost per Mille and Cost per Click)

     

    BEST PRACTICES: Any dollar amount that is added into the Price Override field will override any cost data that is sent by the network. Price data can vary. To obtain the most accurate cost data leave the Price Override field at $0.00.

 

NOTE: After the tracker settings have been updated, the tracking URLs must be sent to the advertiser to ensure that cost data is properly collected.

  1. Click App Tools>Partner Configuration.

  3. Locate the desired network.
  4. Select Network Tools>Credentials.
  5.  

     

  6. Enter network specific authentication data.
  7. Toggle Collect Cost>On.
  8.  

    NOTE: If available, multiple account IDs may be associated with cost collection.

     

  9. Click Save.
